- “My Treasury Manager’s on long term sick leave”
- “The business is going through a period of significant expansion”
- “I can’t get permanent headcount”

Our Temporary and Interim business is growing rapidly at all levels from Treasury Analyst through to Group Treasurer on an international basis.
At MR Recruitment we have the experience and expertise to provide advice to help you decide which option is most appropriate for your staffing needs. Before hiring a temporary or interim member of staff you need to consider the following factors:
- The likely budget
- The urgency of the work / project needs
- The length of the assignment and the likelihood of the work extending beyond this period
- The possibility of the role becoming permanent
MR Recruitment has an extensive database of professional Treasury staff with specialist skills looking for immediate temporary and interim placements.
How do you distinguish between a temp, contractor and an interim? Let us explain what we think the definitions are.
A Temporary Treasury Employee?
A temporary employee is somebody who works for a company on a non-fixed term basis. Generally companies hire temporary employees to cover holiday, sickness or maternity leave. Companies also look to hire temps to cover while recruiting a permanent member of staff or with a view to taking the temp on permanently, during busy periods of the year or to assist with special projects.
Generally a minimum one week notice period is required to terminate temporary employment by either party, this can be longer through the agreement of either party.
Timesheets
The employee’s salary is usually calculated on an hourly or daily rate and is paid by MR Recruitment on a weekly basis.
Hiring a temporary employee is an extremely flexible and cost-effective method. You are hiring the temp’s services and do not carry direct employer liability. MR Recruitment will pay the candidate so you simply pay the fixed hourly charge rate which includes the temp’s pay rate, holiday/sick pay and NI. The number of hours the temp works per day means the amount may vary from week to week, according to what has been authorized. An overtime rate can be agreed with MR Recruitment if required.
Contracting Assignments
Contractors are generally employed for a fixed period of time, typically between one and six months or longer. Their role will often be covering sickness or possibly maternity leave with the responsibilities more operationally focused, driven by day to day needs and demands. They are paid on either a weekly or monthly calculated rate through MR Recruitment or on a pro rata basis directly by the employer not by MR Recruitment.
The flexibility, choice and variety of experience a contract employee can offer an organization means that this method of recruitment is increasingly popular amongst Treasury departments.
Generally the notice period between either party will be agreed by the client.
What is a Treasury Interim?
There has been a lot of interest recently in the amount of senior, qualified professionals proactively seeking work on a temporary basis. Essentially a Treasury Interim is a treasury professional who is employed on a non-permanent basis of typically three to twelve months. This can often be a new role in the finance team working on a specific project, such as capital restructure or system implementation.
Generally the notice period between either party will be agreed by the client.
